4Vets Natural Dog Urinary Non-Struvite | NewPet

Complete dietetic food for dogs, the administration of which dissolves struvite stones and prevents their formation.

It has a limited level of high-quality protein, urine-acidifying properties, and a reduced magnesium content.

For the proper functioning of the entire organism, it is necessary to effectively eliminate unnecessary metabolic waste products that occur with the participation of the kidneys. Various types of unnecessary metabolites, such as urea, creatinine, electrolytes, proteins, and minerals, are expelled from the body through urine.

When urine is highly saturated with minerals, deposits can form under the right conditions. Initially, these are microscopic crystals that, as a result of aggregation and layering, can crystallize into urinary stones.

The most common urinary calculi are struvite (magnesium ammonium phosphate) stones and so-called oxalate or calcium oxalate stones. The formation of individual types of stones is influenced by several factors; struvitosis in dogs is the result of urinary tract infections with urease-positive Staphylococcus and Proteus spp.

High-quality protein - food based on healthy animal protein sources with low fat content. The addition of chicken eggs increases the limiting amino acid coefficient to a level that ensures the maintenance of the correct proportions in the use of all amino acids. The limited supply of high-quality protein covers the body's amino acid needs, but does not over-catabolize them and produce products that can affect kidney function.

The fatty acids – derived from raw materials of animal origin (salmon oil) and flaxseed oil – ensure maximum involvement of polyunsaturated fatty acids from the Omega 3 and Omega 6 families in the biochemical control of the formation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and by specifically inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX-2), resulting in analgesic properties.

Low sodium and potassium content - In the non-struvite veterinary diet, the composition of the raw materials has been selected to ensure that the diet is low in sodium and low in potassium, which reduces the osmotic pressure exerted by electrolytes. This has a beneficial effect on renal function and glomerular filtration and accelerates the dissolution of struvite stone retention.

The cranberry – containing hippuric acid – has a bacteriostatic effect; in addition, the proanthocyanidin present, by combining with bacterial fimbriate, inactivates adhesins, preventing them from adhering to the epithelial cells of the urinary tract. Cranberry effectively reduces urine pH, resulting in less bacterial growth in the bladder and urinary tract. Thanks to these properties, it supports the treatment of urinary tract infections and chronic recurrent urinary tract infections in dogs.

Dried brewer's yeast (a source of prebiotics: mannan-oligosaccharides and β-glucans) has a beneficial effect on the intestinal bacterial flora. Yeast also has a high biological value due to its high content of B vitamins. The use of yeast in the nutrition of young dogs is particularly important because it stimulates a wide range of immune responses.

Yucci Mojave - the presence of this ingredient stimulates digestive function, nutrient absorption in the digestive tract, and stimulates peristalsis. Added to the diet, it reduces the production of intestinal gas and the intensity of fecal odor. Furthermore, Yucci Mojave saponins have antibacterial activity that suppresses intestinal protozoan infections, and the polyphenols are anti-inflammatory.

Banana psyllium seeds (Plantago psyllium L.) - these seeds combine the properties of highly soluble fiber with a low level of fermentability in the small intestine, having a positive effect on improving intestinal peristalsis. In addition, they possess water-binding and gel-forming properties, thus normalizing the passage of digestive contents.
