Dialix Oxalate | NewPet

Dietary supplement for the prevention or treatment of uroliths and crystals of calcium oxalate, cystine and urate in the form of highly palatable crumbs.

Oxalate, urate, cystine, and phosphate stones. Metabolic acidosis.

Dialix Oxalate has a unique composition with potassium citrate that helps prevent the recurrence of calcium oxalate urolithiasis, as well as the dissolution and prevention of urate and cystine urolithiasis.

The chelating and alkalizing action of potassium citrate is complemented by Vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry), which, due to its antimicrobial effects, helps prevent secondary urinary tract infections, and by omega-3 fatty acids, which offer additional kidney protection.

- Prevention of recurrence of urolith/oxalate crystals;
- Prevention of uroliths / urate and cystine crystals;
- Dissolution of uroliths / urate and cystine crystals;
- Metabolic acidosis (for example, in chronic kidney disease).

Urolithiasis is a condition caused by the oversaturation of one or more substances in the urine which, for various reasons, end up concentrating, precipitating into crystals and organizing themselves to form stones.

It's a problem that's becoming increasingly common in veterinary clinics.

Urinary factors that can affect solubility, favoring the appearance of crystals or stones, include mineral concentration, urinary pH, the presence or absence of crystallization inhibitors or promoters, and the protein matrix.

- Highly palatable supplement for dogs and cats, indicated to prevent the formation of oxalate, calcium phosphate, urate and cystine stones, used to eliminate urate and cystine stones and to combat metabolic acidosis.

Potassium citrate is a calcium chelating agent that reduces the availability of calcium in urine, thus reducing the recurrence of calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate uroliths.

On the other hand, potassium citrate administered orally alkalizes the urine, which favors the elimination of stones that form under acidic conditions, such as urate and cystine stones.

- Also due to its alkalizing action, potassium citrate is used to combat metabolic acidosis (e.g., chronic kidney disease).

- In the long term, alkalinization of urine increases the risk of bacterial infections. To prevent this, Dialix® Oxalate contains Vaccinium macrocarpon in its formula, which, due to its high content of proanthocyanidins (PAC), with anti-adhesive action, prevents bacteria from attaching to the walls of the urinary tract.

- Potassium citrate and Vaccinium macrocarpon are in micro-capsules to improve their stability, maximizing their effectiveness throughout their shelf life.

Recent research has shown that incorporating fatty acids into a dog's diet slows down the degeneration of kidney function. The inclusion of Omega 3 and 6 in the Dialix Oxalate formula contributes to the prevention of recurrence of oxalate stones in dogs with impaired kidney function.

VetNova is a pioneer in developing palatable products to facilitate the administration of supplements to dogs and cats.

Unlike tablets, capsules, etc., which are "forced" into the mouth to ensure ingestion, crumbs should be freely placed in the feeder and allowed the animal to take them voluntarily.

Some shy dogs or cats may need a long time to fully accept them, but once they do, daily intake becomes easier and more satisfying.

To facilitate initial acceptance, the following strategies can be used during the first week:
1) Reduce the dose and increase it gradually.
2) Divide the daily dose into two doses (morning and evening).
3) Mix the crumbs with the pâté or any other meal that appeals to your pet, etc.
