Intestine: Anti-inflammatory effect
Omega-3 PUFAs have been shown to have a beneficial effect on controlling inflammation in intestinal disorders in dogs. They significantly suppress intestinal inflammatory activity, particularly in the duodenum of dogs. Omega-3 PUFAs may be beneficial for the animal's intestinal health and well-being. Omega-3 PUFAs help maintain the integrity of the intestinal barrier, thus preventing the translocation of intestinal contents into the circulation.

Heart: Antithrombotic and antiarrhythmic effect.
Cardiovascular disease: Dogs with heart failure have low plasma EPA concentrations. In addition to helping reduce cardiac arrhythmias, fish oil treatment reduces cachexia and improves food intake in some dogs with chronic heart failure-induced anorexia.

Kidney: Anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory effect.
In dogs with CKD, omega-3 administration reduces proteinuria, prevents glomerular hypertension and decreases the production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids.

Joints: Anti-inflammatory effect.
One possibility for alleviating osteoarthritis is to reduce PGE2 production after providing omega-3 PUFAs, which compete with arachidonic acid as substrates for COX and LOX enzymes.
