Effitix Spot On | NewPet

External dewormer for dogs.

Administration in dogs against flea and/or tick infestations when repellent (anti-feeding) activity against sandflies and/or mosquitoes is also required.

Fleas:
Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis). Elimination of fleas present on the dog within 24 hours after treatment. A treatment has persistent efficacy against new adult flea infestations for up to four weeks. The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD) when it has been previously diagnosed by the veterinarian.

Ticks:
One application guarantees acaricidal efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for up to four weeks.

If ticks are present on the dog at the time of application, they may not all be eliminated within the first 48 hours, but they will be eliminated within a week.

Sandflies and Mosquitoes:
One treatment produces repellent (anti-feeding) activity against sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) and against mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes aegypti) for up to four weeks.

Do not administer to rabbits and cats as adverse reactions and even death may occur.

Adverse reactions (frequency and severity)
Transient skin reactions at the application site (pruritus, erythema) and generalized pruritus have been reported. Exceptionally, transient behavioral changes (generally hyperactivity/agitation) and vomiting may occur.

If the animal licks the application site after treatment, transient hypersalivation may be observed.

You should always keep the following situations in mind:
The veterinary medicinal product remains effective after exposure to sunlight or if the animal gets wet due to rain.
Avoid bathing with shampoo or immersing the animal in water, frequently after treatment, as the duration of effectiveness may be reduced.

The weight of the animals must be determined with   accuracy before starting treatment.
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product in puppies less than 12 weeks of age, or weighing less than 1.5 kg, has not been established.
Care must be taken to prevent the contents of the pipette from coming into contact with the eyes or mouth of the treated dog. It is important to make sure that the veterinary medicinal product is applied to an area where the animal cannot lick it off and to ensure that animals do not lick each other after treatment.

Do not administer to rabbits and cats.
This veterinary medicinal product is extremely toxic to cats and can even cause death due to the particular physiology of this species which is unable to metabolize certain compounds, including permethrin.

Administer during pregnancy and lactation only in accordance with the benefit/risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian .

- Remove the pipette from the packaging.
- Hold the pipette in an upright position.
- Cover the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that all the contents are in the main body of the pipette.
- Break the pipette fitting cap along the dotted line.
- Part the dog's fur until the skin is clearly visible.
- Place the pipette tip directly against the bare skin and gently squeeze, several times, until its content is empty in two to four different application sites, according to body weight, along the pet's back, starting from the shoulder blades to the base of the tail.
- As a guideline, in dogs weighing less than 20 kg apply in two places and in dogs weighing more than 20 kg apply in 2-4 places.

Treatment schedule:

Administration of the veterinary medicinal product should be based on confirmation of infestation or risk of infestation by fleas and/or ticks, when repellent (anti-feeding) activity against sandflies and/or mosquitoes is also required.
Depending on the risk associated with the ectoparasite, the responsible veterinarian may recommend repeating the treatment.
The minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
