Aging causes a decrease in the organic capacities of pets. One of the changes observed concerns the neurosensory system, with a decrease in its cognitive capacity.

This is how Cognitive Dysfunction arises in senior animals. This disease is characterized by being neurodegenerative with progression, and the physiological events involved in this disease consist of the deposition of beta-amyloid protein, oxidative stress, mitochondrial damage and other changes that lead to cognitive decline.

At a behavioral level, pet animals may experience changes such as: staring blankly at the walls, floor or into space, less interest in interacting with family members and toys, agitation and/or vocalization at night, lack of interest in daily tasks, defecating, urinating in inappropriate places and
more reactive/fearful to sound stimuli.

Ginkgo Biloba - Its beneficial effects are at the level of blood circulation (it inhibits the platelet activation factor and consequently inhibits vasoconstriction), it produces
memory improvement (modulates the activity of neurotransmitters and receptors) and also has beneficial effects on signs of aging (acts as an antioxidant). A study in dogs found that after exposure to Ginkgo biloba leaf extract, there was a significant decrease in age-related conditions such as disorientation, changes in sleep/activity and behavioral changes

Cannabis Sativa L. - Produces immunomodulatory, anti-nociceptive, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, analgesic, anxiolytic, antiemetic, muscle relaxant, spasmolytic, sedative, tumor growth inhibitor, anticonvulsant effects and acts as an appetite stimulant. It is highly tolerated by animals, with a good safety profile and no clinical toxicity recorded in the scientific literature.

Propolis - It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action and also provides support for wound healing and has antimicrobial power. Its bioactive compounds are responsible for the anti-inflammatory activity of propolis, inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) and consequently inhibiting the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, which contributes to a reduction in the concentration of inflammatory cytokines.

Fish Oil (EPA and DHA) - Contains high levels of long-chain polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, including eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). They are not synthesized in animals and are therefore considered essential fatty acids. EPA and DHA are an integral component of cell membrane phospholipids, with specific functional, metabolic, signaling and inflammatory response regulation roles.
