Trichomoniasis
The fight against Trichomoniasis is of central importance when it comes to the performance of the homing pigeon. As far as possible, no medication should be used outside the sporting campaign, in order to promote the animals' natural resistance. Here, regular use of the natural product Usnea Barbata has proven its worth through lichen. Administration of Usnea Barbata twice a week or every 5 or 6 weeks for 5 to 7 days has an exceptional preventive effect. It provides natural protection without animals developing resistance.
Breeders who have problems with their babies can also use Usnea Barbata for long periods of time.

Lichen produces a series of secondary metabolites that function as antioxidants and lead to activation of the immune system. They have very strong effects on building resistance and regulating the proper functioning of organs.

Dosage Treatment

A 5 to 7 day treatment with p. ex. ronidazole BT (10%) before the campaign in order to start the sports season absolutely sure that there are no trichomonas.

During the sporting campaign, however, we recommend not using ronidazole as it can have a debilitating effect. We have had the best experiences with Metro produced according to Dr. Erdösz, which is sprayed directly onto each animal at a 2:8 dilution. With this highly efficient and pleasant combination of active agents, we free ourselves from trichomonas in a matter of a few minutes and do not lose time in terms of the recovery period.

Different strains of pigeons have different susceptibilities to trichomonas. Therefore, as long as the training behavior around the loft is good, you should not treat the pigeons. The longer you go without treating them, the more constant the shape curve will be.

Recommended dosage
5 ml of Usnea Barbata to 1 liter of water, twice a week
