The zinc present in GLUTAMAX® Advanced is chelated with amino acids (glycine) to avoid side effects in the gastrointestinal tract and provide greater bioavailability.

Antioxidant effect
- It impairs the absorption of copper inside liver cells (useful in copper poisoning).
- Antioxidant activity enhanced by vitamin
- Cofactor of many enzymes; during chronic liver dysfunction, its deficiency is common and causes a decrease in ammonia detoxification.

Vitamin B
Vitamin B12 is a cofactor in hepatic metabolic pathways, so its quantity is critical in chronic liver dysfunctions due to its involvement in the reduction of glutathione.
Feline idiopathic cholangiohepatitis and lipidosis are characterized by a vitamin B12 deficiency.

L-Carnitine
L-carnitine is a vitamin-like substance found in most cells. L-carnitine synthesis occurs predominantly in the liver, and consequently, liver diseases can result in deficiency states.
L-carnitine deficiency can result in the accumulation of triglycerides in hepatocytes and lead to the accumulation of toxic acetyl CoA metabolites that impair respiration and mitochondrial function.

Clinically, L-carnitine deficiency has been associated with increased ammonia concentrations, hypoglycemia, and fatty liver disease.
L-carnitine deficiency may play a role in the pathogenesis of idiopathic feline hepatic lipidosis.

Taurine
Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid necessary for membrane stabilization and detoxification.
In cats, it is an essential nutrient. Taurine is recommended for use in cases of lipidosis and cholestasis.

Instructions for use:

Administer directly into the mouth or mix with the usual food in the following proportions:

Cats: 1 ml of GLUTAMAX® advanced for every 5 kg of body weight, daily.

For adult cats. GLUTAMAX® advanced paste is indicated as support for proper liver function in cases of chronic liver failure.
Administer GLUTAMAX® advanced paste for the recommended period of use, initially up to 6 months, following the veterinarian's instructions.
