S-adenosylmethionine (also known as SAMe) is a molecule found in all cells of the body. SAMe is of particular importance in hepatocytes, where it has the ability to positively influence the metabolism of the entire body. It contributes to the formation of glutathione, the most important defense mechanism against oxidative stress, as it helps detoxify harmful molecules, making them soluble and thus facilitating their excretion. Glutathione protects hepatocytes from cellular deterioration and death (apoptosis). When the liver is damaged, the enzymatic activity of SAMe synthetase decreases. This causes methionine to increase and SAMe levels to decrease. Due to this reduction, less glutathione is synthesized, causing liver failure which can affect the metabolism of the entire body.

Silybin is the most abundant and active component of silymarin, an extract from the fruit of milk thistle ( Silybum marianum ). Silybin neutralizes free radicals, thus protecting liver cells against oxidative damage. Silybin inhibits the adhesion of toxins, as well as the production of leukotrienes, which are involved in the inflammatory response. As for phosphatidylcholine, it is the main precursor/metabolite of choline and the main constituent of lipoproteins in the bloodstream and cell membranes. It is also the main component of bile and plays a key role in mitochondrial energy transformation and the elimination of cellular metabolic waste.

Each Prolivet tablet for small dogs & cats contains:
- Oxomet®: Product derived from the fermentation of S. cerevisiae, rich in Sa: 420.42 mg
- sodium pyrophosphate

- Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol 50%, 3a700): 52.5 mg

Each Prolivet tablet for medium-sized dogs contains:
- Oxomet®: Product derived from the fermentation of S. cerevisiae, rich in S-cerevisiae: 504 mg
- Sodium pyrophosphate
- Yeast, lupin protein flour, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, sunflower oil , magnesium stearate.
- Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol 50%, 3a700): 52.5 mg.

Each Prolivet tablet for large dogs contains:
- Oxomet®: Product derived from the fermentation of S. cerevisiae, rich in S-cerevisiae: 1,008 mg
- Sodium pyrophosphate
- Yeast, lupin protein flour, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, sunflower oil , magnesium stearate.
- Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol 50%, 3a700): 105 mg
- Flavor: Siliphos® (silybum marianum, phosphatidicoline (lecti): 168 mg

Prolivet small breeds & cats:
- 1 cp (0 - 5 kg)
- 2 tablets (6 - 10kg)

Prolivet medium breeds:
- 1 tablet (7 - 15kg)

Prolivet for large breeds:
- 1 cp (16 - 30 kg)
- 2 packs (31 - 50kg)
- 3cp (+ 50kg)

It is recommended to administer the tablets while the animal is hungry, at least one hour before food intake, to ensure optimal absorption. The animal should have constant access to water. Administer Prolivet® orally for a minimum period of 30 days.

The administration period may be extended at the discretion of the veterinarian.
