Uremic toxins originate from essential amino acids
Cats, unlike dogs, are strict carnivores and rely on a high-protein diet. Protein metabolism generates a large amount of waste products, including uremic toxins, which are normally excreted by the kidneys.

Porus One contains Renaltec ®, an adsorbent in the form of small homogeneous black spheres with diameters of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. Each sphere has a smooth surface and numerous pores that facilitate adsorption. Adsorbed precursors of uremic toxins are excreted in feces without being metabolized or accumulated.

In chronic kidney disease, the removal of uremic toxins from the blood does not occur, resulting in the accumulation of these toxins.
Porus® One binds to the precursors of uremic toxins in the cat's intestine so they cannot be absorbed or enter the bloodstream. Precursors are eliminated through feces.

Binding of these precursors reduces the accumulation of harmful toxins in the blood, which results due to poor kidney function in cats.

Porus One has a neutral taste and odor and is administered daily. To facilitate administration, Porus One should be mixed with a small portion of wet food or moist snack to ensure ingestion.
